What is the relationship between resistance and conductor?


       Shaanxi Huaxing Electronics believes that the main physical characteristic of resistance is that the variable electrical energy is thermal energy. It can also be said that it is an energy-consuming element. As long as there is current flowing through it, it generates internal energy. Resistors, short for resistance, are the most used components in all electronic circuits. Resistors usually act as a voltage divider in the circuit. For signals, AC and DC signals can pass through resistors. The resistance is a linear element. It is a linear element because it is found through experiments that, under certain conditions, the current flowing through a resistor is directly proportional to the voltage across the resistor—that is, it is in accordance with Ohm's law: I=U/R Common carbon film resistance or Metal film resistors can be modeled with a linear resistor when the temperature is constant and the voltage and current values are limited to the rated conditions.


       The resistance has a certain resistance, which represents the resistance of this resistor to the current flow. The unit of resistance is ohms, represented by the symbol "Ω." Ohm is defined such that when a voltage of 1 volt is applied across a resistor, if there is 1 amp current in this resistor, then the resistance of this resistor is 1 ohm.

       In the International System of Units, the unit of resistance is Ω (ohms), in addition to KΩ (kiloohms), MΩ (megaohms). Among them: 1MΩ=1000KΩ, 1KΩ=1000Ω. The electrical performance of resistors usually has nominal resistance, error, and rated power. It forms some functional circuits with other components. Its main function is to hinder the flow of current. It is used in current limiting, shunting, step-down, voltage division, load and capacitance cooperation filters, and impedance matching.

       1, rated voltage: When the actual voltage exceeds the rated voltage, even if the power requirements are met, the resistor will be damaged by breakdown.

  Rated power: The rated power of the selected resistor should be more than twice the actual power to ensure the reliability of the resistor in the circuit for long-term operation.

       2, according to resistance characteristics: fixed resistance, adjustable resistance, special resistance.

       Can not be adjusted, we call it fixed resistance, and can be adjusted, we call it adjustable resistance. Common such as radio volume adjustment, mainly used in voltage distribution, we call it potentiometer.

       3, according to the installation method: plug resistance, chip resistors.

       4, according to manufacturing materials: carbon film resistors, metal film resistors, wirewound resistors and so on.
